After discussions, Schilthorn remains a member of the Top4 ski pass.
From HTR.ch
In mid-May 2019 it was decided to continue the Top4 ski pass without the Mürren-Schilthorn ski area. After discussions with the Schilthornbahn, the partners have come back to their decision and in the winter sports season 2019/2020 will continue to accept the Top4 subscription in all subareas.
Buyers of the Top4 ski pass can now ski at no extra charge in the Mürren-Schilthorn area.
On the occasion of its collective bargaining conference, the association partners of the Jungfrau Ski Region decided in mid-May 2019 by a large majority to adjust the scope of the Top4 subscription and without starting the Mürren-Schilthorn area into the upcoming winter sports season. The network includes the Jungfrau Railways, the Grindelwald-Männlichen gondola lift, the Schilthorn cable car, the Wengen-Männlichen aerial cableway, the Bumps ski lift, the Wengiboden ski lifts and the Bodmi double ski lift. The decision to continue the Top4 ski pass without the Mürren-Schilthorn ski area has now been withdrawn.
The composite parties were convinced that they would continue to offer their customers an attractive offer, especially as a large proportion of winter sports enthusiasts had not made use of the Schilthorn area, the responsible parties write in a statement. Another reason for the adjustment of the scope were the incompatible offer and price philosophies of the companies, which no basis for a close cooperation was given.
The decision had provoked great resistance, especially among local skiers. On the Awaaz.org platform, a petition was specifically launched to protest against the “division of the Jungfrau Region”. By 4 June, the petition had been signed more than 7,600 times.
Swiss Travel Pass on the Schilthorn only valid to a limited extent
Following discussions with the managers of the Schilthornbahn, the business differences, especially with regard to the low-price strategy, have now been resolved by the beginning of June 2019. One consequence of this is that from 1 January 2020, the Schilthornbahn will no longer accept the Swiss Travel Pass outside the inhabited locations free of charge. In doing so, it is following the efforts of the network partners to work against the industry-damaging and market-distorting low prices.
In order to strengthen the Jungfrau Ski Region as a whole, the Schilthornbahn will be more actively involved in the future on behalf of the entire region and will increasingly support joint market development with the associated partners and support the decisions made, it goes on to say. The responsible persons are convinced to act in the interest of their customers and to promote the successful future of the Jungfrau Ski Region.
An important milestone will be the opening of the V-Bahn project on December 14, 2019, with the new gondola lift Grindelwald-Männlichen, parts of the terminal and the public transport station “Grindelwald Terminal” of the Bernese Oberland Railway.
Top4 ski pass from 1 September
As in the past two seasons, there will be the Top4 ski pass in advance for 666 francs. With Adelboden-Lenk, Gstaad, the Jungfrau Ski Region and Meiringen-Hasliberg, all partners are therefore unchanged and offer their guests the complete range of winter sports.
In the Jungfrau Ski Region there is only a slight adjustment in the season ticket for locals. This is new for 480 francs (base adults). Advance ticket sales for the Top4 ski pass will start on September 1, 2019. (htr)

We’ve covered recently that the pass was not covering the region of Mürren and the Schilthorn, so this is great news for the people going to the area. Also last year we’ve covered the Top4 Skipass when it went into sale.
