New chairlift: Ra Valles
There will be a new four-seater chairlift in the area of Ra Valles. This is the highest in Cortina. You reach it with the Freccia nel Cielo Gondola and cablecar from the town centre. This new chairlift will replace two lifts.
It will reduce transport time dramatically. You will be able to reach much faster the top of the Bus de Tofana slope. This is the highest slope in Cortina,starting at 2,743m.
New slopes
Panorarica Druscié.
As the name points out, this is a panoramic piste with a blue slope to enjoy great views. You can see the Boite Valley, the Antelao, the Faloria and the Cristallo. The piste connects Rumerlo, in the Caminetto area, to the middle-station of the Cortina to Col Druscie cablecar.
Modified slopes for the 2021 Cortina World Championships:
Druscié AA and Druscié B were extended for the races and warm- up of the athletes during the World Championships. There the system of snow-making and avalanche control has been upgraded.
During the World championships, the authorities classified Druscié A optimal for international slalom skiing competences.
New bars and terraces
New terrace in Col Druscié
A new building and terrace replaced the old house and old chairlift in Col Druscié. Now this new terrace-garden has breathtaking views of Cortina d’Ampezzo. This will be a great spot for sunbathing. Or why not tasting the wines of the Masi Wine Bar? Or eat the delicious dishes prepared by their chef? Or have an aperitivo at the Restaurant Col Druscié 1778.
Winter season 2020-21 has seen the opening of B&B Hotel Cortina Passo Tre Croci. The hotel is located at the Tre Croci Pass and was closed for many years. The reopening is possible thanks to the investment of the hotel chain B&B Hotels.
The property has 124 rooms. The hotel is a 3 stars, immersed in nature. It is ideal for couples and families. Also is a great hotel for meetings and incentives.

2021 marks the 120th anniversary of Hotel Cristallo, the only 5*L of the Dolomites. The Cristallo was built in 1901 by Emilia and Giuseppe Menardi. The hotel has evolved over the years to adapt to trends. Today it still spoils its guests with the views and perfect service.
This year there is a recently renovated Spa. The three restaurants offering food keep on improving and refining themselves.

Even it is not new, the Dolomiti Lodge Alverà has expanded. The wellness area is the last to expand. It will offer beauty treatments and massages, a new gym and a pool.
The lodge will offer a new independent luxury chalet. Chalet Serge will spoil guests with 24/6 assistance. It will have dedicated services and its own wellness area.
Beautifully decorated, this chalet can accommodate up to 7 people in its 250 sq. A traditional exterior while the interior has a modern design.
The wellness area includes Finnish sauna, steam bath.
The Chalet has about 30 mq of Terraces with beautiful views on the Ampezzo Dolomites.
Chalet Serge gives you the opportunity to host local chefs or experts. From the most well-known in Europe. Get your chef of up to three Michelin Stars. They can cook private lunches or dinners for special occasions/or events. It is also possible to organise Cooking Classes to learn the secrets of Italian cuisine. Hotel Càmina is an example of a new approach to tourism focused on sustainability. The hotel has received the Green Key certification. The hotel has placed solar panels that recharge electric bikes and cars. They also use local products. The owners focus on how to practice sustainability in the tourism industry.

New Farm in Cortina
A new farm has opened in Cortina, in the Lagunasc area, a large meadow close to the Boite river. The farm has about 25 cows and produces yogurt and milk. Right now its produce is at the Cooperativa di Cortina. In the future the farm will have its own shop.
The owner, Davide Santer, says: “Animal farming up here is naturally organic, since the land has never been treated with chemical products”.
Fall colours in Cortina
October sets ablaze the woods surrounding Cortina d’Ampezzo with the bright colours of autumn foliage. The crisp air is a shot of vitality and has a fresh smell of wood, the trails are silent and the best spots almost empty. The UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites rise from the woods and meadows. Alpine lakes, high-mountain pastures and traditional houses provide picturesque settings to admire and capture on camera.
It is the perfect period for amateur and professional photographers to visit.
Famous spots such as Lake Federa, the Cinque Torri and Passo Giau are classic for photographers in all seasons. There are also countless other places that lend themselves to a photo session thanks to the autumn light and colours.
Amateurs and experts can take part in a photo trekking to discover some of the most fascinating places in Cortina with a local photographer, who will help participants choose the best light and moments for a series of amazing photos. The experience can be organised for small groups and includes one night in a double room in a hotel or other accommodation.
Apart from trekking, or mountain biking you can reach these photo spots by cablecar. The Lagazuoi cablecar, open until 24th October. In only a couple minutes, it covers a vertical difference of almost 700m. It leaves guests close to mountain hut Rifugio Lagazuoi. There you have a panoramic terrace, with a view on some of the most iconic peaks of the Dolomites.
