Val d’Isère starting the ski season with clear protocols.
I receive many emails from the different ski resorts and how things will take shape this season. I liked particularly the one I’ve received this morning of Val d’Isère that is starting its ski season with clear protocols.
Only a few days to go till the opening, Val d’Isère is striving to offer optimum health and travel conditions for its visitors. Val d’Isère is offering its guests to get an equivalence to the EU covid certificate for non EU nationals. It will also place a dedicated covid testing centre.

Starting from November 27th, an online scheduling platform will go live. Both French and foreign nationals will be able to create an account. Then they will be able to book an appointment with healthcare professionals go get tested. This service will be in both French and English. This centre will be open for asymptomatic people only. If you have symptoms, guests have to contact one of Val d’Isère’s medical centres. Val d’Isère pharmacy can deliver EU Covid certificates of equivalence.
Applicants need to provide:
ID card or passport
The original vaccine certificate with the following mandatory information. Vaccine type, lot number, place of vaccination
How to apply?
The best is to submit your application in advance, as soon as you know travel dates and one has the original documents.
To apply, please send an email request to caroline.vs@pharmasolaise.com. Please allow at least 72 hours to process the information and get the QR code.
The Covid certificates of equivalence are issued in hard copy only and can be collected in the pharmacy when the guests arrive in Val d’Isère. Sending digital versions of the Covid Certificates is strictly prohibited.
How much does it cost? The price is of 36€ per certificate and is to be paid on site when the certificate is delivered.

Other important information Follow the latest updates about the sanitary protocols in Val d’Isère here.
Also, if you have your NHS QR code, you can print it on paper, and then download the Tous Anti Covid app. You can scan your NHS QR code with the French app, and then save the French QR code. Other EU countries can read these codes. At least, that is my experience in Italy.
If you come from America, where, as far as I know, you don’t get your vaccines on an app, then this service in Val d’Isère is great.
Note that last week it was announced that people will need to show their Covid Pass to get on the lifts. These informations change a lot, so keep on checking news on the French Embassy of the UK or from your home country.
Kids 12 -15 that are not double vaccinated, will need to take a lateral flow test to get on the lifts. Also the validity of the tests, change per country and the situation is too fluid, so check before travel!
