Foot Foundation can help you have happy feet (and ankles, knees, hips and backs!)

As I am going to Aspen next week, I have arranged a meeting with Foot Foundation. Eric Ward, its’ founder, is the husband of a dear friend of mine (Agustina Casal) and he has launched this endeavour when I used to live in Aspen in the year 2,000.

Having had problems with my right foot and ankle for years, this is something I should have done years ago, as from all the reviews I hear from Foot Foundation, it can help you have happy feet (and ankles, knees, hips and backs), which is what I am looking for.

Being super elastic has its pros and cons. My cons are that I over stretch, and I pronate and supinate all at the same time. I will know exactly at what angle each foot pronates or supinate after having the scan done on Eric’s machines at the Foot Foundation.

What my physio told me is that on my right foot I tend to pass my weight from the outer side of the foot to the right toe too fast when walking, compared to my left foot. My right foot, ankle and leg are much more unstable that my left side, making me have all type of ailments. My last pain is sciatica pain… I am doing lots of exercises now to get rid of it with different poses for elongated the glute and the hamstrings, which brings some relieve, but then I get all stiff again just by walking!

So, with the machines that Eric has at the Foot Foundation, he will measure each foot on its own and create a 3D-printed insole to support my foot structure. The difference is that Eric’s insoles support the entire tripod of the foot, not just the arch, helping align the whole kinetic chain-foot, ankle, knee, and hip-into a more stable and efficient position at neutral. Basically, your foot can relax, and the bone structure can work as it should, and your muscles do not cramp up as it is happening to me now with each step I take!

My osteopath told me to get some custom-made insoles the last time I’ve seen her. She told me that other than doing all those exercises to force my foot have an arch, I’d rather do something that will help all my body stance from bottom up.

I will film the process (or ask someone to do it for me while I am balancing in one foot and then the other) and post it later, so you guys can see how it was done.

And Eric is offering all The-Ski-Guru readers a discount if you say I am sending you- just check the video below. There is 20% off your custom insoles and 30% off ski boots, if you say that The-Ski-Guru sent to you.
