Patagonia Worn Wear campaign is a radical idea to encourage recycling.

Patagonia Worn Wear EU Winter Tour Dates - Photo by Patagonia

The Patagonia Worn Wear is a trade-in campaign organised by Patagonia, which accepts Patagonia clothing that functions perfectly and is in good condition. When you take your good quality, used Patagonia gear, the store will give you credit to use in their stores.

The Worn Wear Clothing comes from our closets and garages, maybe they just have a small thing to be repaired, and are just collecting dust. Patagonia repairs the items and cleaned them using CO2, which saves water and energy compared to traditional methods.

Patagonia has always being a social responsible company and they think that we need to reduce our impact in the planet producing high quality garments that will last for years, and which could be repaired, so you do not need to buy anything new.

Packing list for your family ski holiday

Skiers Over New Year Prepare for a £450 Wipeout at the Car Hire Rental Desk. Photo by Adrian - Unsplash - taken in Mont Saint Helens, USA.

Going skiing with the family is great, but you need to plan your bag ahead, and be sure that your little ones will not be suffering from the cold, or if not, your holiday might be jeopardised if they are too cold for skiing.

When you are packing, I suggest thinking on your ski clothes first, and doing the normal clothes later. You will not need too many normal clothes if you are self catering, a couple of trousers, shirts or t-shirts and warm jumpers if you are planning to dine outside, unless you are staying in a hotel or chalet and you have to go out for dinner or you have included half or full board, that you might want to look smart every evening.

Warren Miller, the ski-movies-guru and pioneer, died at 93 at his Orcas Island home

Warren Miller was the pioneer of the ski films, a real ski movies guru.

I was very sad to hear that Warren A. Miller, the pioneer ski movies filmmaker has passed away yesterday. He was 93, but he did have a great life. He promoted the idea of ‘pure freedom’ that is associated with skiing. He was a self-taught filmmaker who started filming himself for an annual narrated ski movie shown in small theatres. Over the years, he continued narrating all his films, his voice is very warm, and recognisable. He makes fun out of skiing and is ok of making fun out of himself. His company, Warren Miller Entertainment, has produced more than 500 adventure sport films.

BLACK CROWS SKIS REVIEW

MENS ALL TERRAIN Skis (all Mountain)

DAEMON

“it’s a bit like having a wild stallion under your feet: the skis pivot ever so easily, they just love to play with the ground. and when you want to dig the edge in, the daemon’s right there, giving you instant bite into the snow whatever the terrain!”

perfect blend of titanal and full reverse camber.

a very stable ski which goes in to action easily and efficiently due to the full reverse camber. the tonic effect of the flex is counterbalanced by the full reverse camber and allows the daemon to combine speed, bounce and easy handling. Continue reading “Spot on: Black Crows Skis”

Buying the first pair of skis for my kids at Finches Emporium in Forest Hill

Buying skis for your kids - Finches Emporium - SE London, Forest Hill. Photo by The-Ski-Guru

After purchasing my two boys of 7 and 9 years old, the Roces ski boots that grow with their feet (I’ve written about this in this article) – I got tempted and got them now skis with bindings -(that will not need to be changed each season with a new pair of boots). At least I can get a couple of seasons of them!

Off we went to Finches Emporium, our local shop in Forest Hill, and as we took our adult skis to get their bases done there, we’ve decided to buy our kids’ skis in the same place and support our local businesses.

Gear Review: Roces IDEA ski boots for kids

Roces boot 2 buckles

Roces Kids Ski Boots is the greatest idea for growing kids feet, that can help parents decide investing in a good pair of boots for them.

Roces Ski Boot with 3 buckles
Roces Ski Boot 3 buckles

When I’ve read about this product I’ve thought it was so great, that I NEEDED to buy them for my two boys. I bought the Idea UP and Idea FREE models.

The Idea UP has 2 buckles and the Idea FREE has three buckles and a strap. The great thing is that both have six foot sizes in one boot! It is very easy to make the boot smaller, as the shell contracts, making a longer heel (which is the part that fits into the binding).
