Italians tend to go skiing on their Settimana Bianca in two different weeks. First week is for the New Year’s Eve week and the second week is during Carnival.

Prices for New Years have increased 14% in respect with last. And the year before, the prices already have increased by 20%. For Carnival Week, rates have increased by 5%
New flight from London Gatwick to Bolzano airport with Sky Alps
A new flight is launching on 15 December 2021 from London Gatwick to Bolzano airport with Sky Alps. This flight will operate weekly on Wednesday in December. It will then operate twice weekly on Wednesday and Sundays from Jan 5-16 March, 2022.
Prices start at £116 each way. Bolzano is only 90 minutes from renown resort Alta Badia. This is as well as all the different resorts from Sudtirol and Trentino.
Usually people going to Sudtirol or Trentino tend to go to Verona or Innsbruck or Bergamo. This new route opens a much easier connection to the heart of the Dolomites. People going to Trentino or Belluno (home of Cortina d’Ampezzo), use Venice or Milano (MXP or LIN).

Madonna di Campiglio will open on the weekends of November 16 and 17, and November 23-24 thanks to its abundant snowfall. There are 40 cm of snow in the village and 80 cm at altitude. The Grosté area will open these two weekends, with the entire area will be available on November 30th. Pinzolo, Folgarida and Marilleva will open on December 5th with all the connections between the areas.

The lift companies are working now grooming and preparing the 150 km of slopes.

Pinzolo, the area connected to Madonna di Campiglio and all the Skirama Dolomiti (the massive carousel of resorts to the West of the Brennero Road that goes from Verona to Innsbruck in the Trentino Province), has opened its first five stars luxury hotel, the Lefay Resort & Spa Dolomiti.
This ‘jewel of luxury’ is the second of the Lefay Resorts, after the Lefay Resort & Spa at Lake Garda in Gargagno opened in 2008. The resort is centered on the theme of wellness and sustainability in a luxury setting. Even though the largest region of Madonna di Campiglio, Pinzolo and Val Rendena, with the Adamello Presanella group and the Brenta Dolomites has already four of the six 5-star hotels in the Trentino province, this hotel is the first one to earn the five-star luxury classification.

Les 3 Vallées, the world’s largest connected ski area, is located in the Tarentaise Valley, in the heart of the French Alps. As implied by its name, the area consists of three valleys: Saint Bon, Les Allues and Les Belleville. The ski area is a network of seven resorts Courchevel, Méribel, Brides-les-Bains, Les Menuires, Saint Martin de Belleville, Val Thorens and Orelle. The US SKI TEAM is arriving to the skiarea Alpe Cimbra in Trentino. The words “Mountain of the Champions” used to refer to Alpe Cimbra couldn’t be more appropriate.
It is official; Alpe Cimbra ski area – Folgaria, Lavarone – is the new training centre of the male US SKI TEAM for the next 4 years. Theslopes Salizzona and Agonistica, the most technical of the ski area, will turn into their training centre.

The decision of the US Ski team is no coincidence. In the last couple of years, many World Cup teams trained here. The technical features of these slopes coupled with the optimal conditions of the terrain resulting from the professional grooming techniques of the ski lift company led to spread the popularity of the ski area as one the best destination for training purposes. Michael Rech, the President of the tourist office Alpe Cimbra, underlines that “hosting significant skiing international events – like the European Cup races and the Alpe Cimbra Fis Children Cup (former Mickey Mouse Trophy) – and hosting the training of important World Cup ski teams like – Italy, Austria and Sweden – has improved our awareness about what the destination needs to offer to the top athletes. In this sense our efficiency has increased.
Alpe Cimbra, is still an unknown secret and a real gem in the Trentino Dolomites.
People travelling to the Trentino Dolomites tend to go to Madonna di Campiglio or Val di Fassa, which are both great destinations – Madonna di Campiglio also share its slopes with Pinzolo, and Folgarida and Marilleva in Val di Sole.

Then Val di Fassa is connected to the Sella Ronda – a massive ski carousel of 1,200+ km of skiing around the Grupo della Sella massif. There are some little jewels such as San Martino di Castrozza, Andalo Paganella and Val di Fiemme (which we have produced a Must Read Guide). But Alpe Cimbra is not very renown in the UK and USA.
Alpe Cimbra is located in the Northern Italian Alps of Trentino. It is a different alternative to the better-known resorts of the Dolomites.
